PAY: $12.01 Per Hour ... PLUS, excellent benefits after 90 days!

SHIFT: Tuesday 5am to 8am, Wednesday - Saturday 4am to 7:30am. Shift is approximate and subject to change.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma/G.E.D. Ability to lift 75 lbs. and maneuver packages of any weight above 75 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Clerical experience including typing and/or general office administration duties preferred. Good human relations and communication skills. Ability to successfully complete all basic and recurrency training. Experience dealing with the movement of heavyweight freight using forklifts, tugs and other loading/unloading equipment preferred. Effectively communicate verbally in a time sensitive manner in noisy operations environment. Since operating motorized conveyances is required of this job, must possess valid driver's license (see policy 4-48).

JOB DUTIES:

Operates mechanized ramp equipment, a majority of total time worked.

Meets aircraft and transports packages and freight to sort and heavyweight areas. assists in ensuring aircraft, vehicles and containers are loaded/unloaded in a safe and efficient manner including dangerous goods, in accordance with proper packaging and freight handling techniques.

Ensures the safe, efficient buildup/breakdown of pallets. Ensures broken down freight is properly stored, staged and protected from the elements at all times.

Properly handles packages covered by regulatory requirements, such as handling of live animals and perishable goods.

Separates packages by service typed and destination, in accordance with established procedures. audits size and weight of packages to ensure conformance with service requested. Scans packages according to prescribed procedures.

Ensures all packages which cannot be sorted are staged as required in the operating plan, as needed.

Assists in completing all related paperwork and manifests in an accurate and timely manner. Datacomms information to the appropriate parties, as needed.

Performs clerical functions which may require a knowledge of general business and office procedures including maintaining follow-up files, answering phones, assembling materials for reports and composing letters.

Audits belly cards, container close-outs and bills of lading.

Maintains radio communication with appropriate personnel, as required.

Job Summary:

To load and unload aircraft and vehicles, sort packages, and provide efficient delivery and pick-up of packages; to check shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service; to provide related customer service functions.

5-Day Work Week Schedule:

Monday-Friday 6:45am-11:30am

Pay Rate is $13.14/Hr. Plus Benefits


Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma/G.E.D. Must be licensed for type of vehicle assigned. Ability to lift 75 lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 75 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Good human relations and verbal communication skills. Neat appearance since customer contact is required. Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the federal motor carrier safety regulations. Requires medical exam in accordance with fhwa or faa regulations. Effectively communicate verbally in a time sensitive manner in noisy operations environment.

Provides efficient and safe delivery and pick-up of packages, while representing the company in a professional manner.

Operates non-articulated vehicles safely and efficiently, complying with all governmental and corporate procedures.

Accomplishes accurate and timely selection and inspection of assigned packages and the subsequent reporting of stop counts and missorts.

Seeks additional business from current customers and attempts to gain new business; passes leads to sales department; informs sales department of significant changes in customer use/competitors actions.

Answers customers questions on FedEx features of service, and keeps customers informed about the company and its services.

Ensures that packages conform to FedEx features of service, that proper labeling is provided, and that all paperwork is complete, neat, and accurate.

Determines legality of packages including special requirements for dangerous goods and international shipments; separates packages by service type and destination, in accordance with established procedures.

Scans packages according to prescribed procedures; demonstrates proficiency in features of service and equipment.

Ensures customers have adequate supply of FedEx materials for shipping.

Meets aircraft and transports packages as required for sorting operations.

Loads and unloads aircraft, containers and company vehicles; operates mechanized ramp equipment to load and unload packages.

Cleans, washes and performs minor maintenance to company equipment as necessary; maintains neat and clean personal appearance to uphold company's public image.
